TREKKERTENT DRIFT INSTRUCTIONS

Drift uses 2 inverted hiking poles for support, the handles rest on the ground and the
pole tips are secured in grommets in the apex's of the flysheet

Before starting, set one hiking pole to 900mm height and the other pole to 1100mm height.
Unzip the flysheet doors on both sides and loosen the guylines at the line-locs at the 6 corners.

In windy conditions the low end (grey loop at apex) should be pitched first, into the wind.

Lay out the flysheet on the ground and peg the 6 corners at the tie-outs.  The panels should not be pulled tight, there should be just a little slack.
                                             2

Insert the pole tip into the eyelet on the underside of the flysheet apex.  Stand pole upright  while holding  the apex guyline.

Attach apex guyline to the peg at the doors and tighten the line loc. A lot of tension can be  put through these guylines to make the ridge go very taut and make the tent very stable in strong winds.
                                             4

Tighten the line locs at all 6 corners. The apex guylines can share the doors peg in normal conditions. In strong winds, an additional peg can be used  to distribute the loads.  When opening or closing the zip, both door guylines should be used to reduce the tension on the zip.

The inner tent is attached by first inserting the 2 clips on the ridge into the quick release  snap buckles on the underside of the flysheet apex's.
                                                       6

The 4 corners of the inner tent bathtub have guylines that loop through the flysheet corner tie-out guylines and around the peg. They are then tightened with the attached line locs.

After extensive rain, there is potential for the silnylon flysheet material to develop some sag. Combined with strong winds, it is best to use the mid-panel guylines on the end panels to maintain a clear gap between the flysheet and the inner tent.

                                                                WARNING!

  •        Keep flame and heat sources away from the tent fabric
The tent fabric is not fireproof or flame resistant and will burn if in contact with an
open flame or other heat source.

  •        Never use any fuel-burning products inside or within close proximity to this tent
Use of fuel burning products inside or within immediate proximiity of this tent can
result in the accumulation of dangerous concentrations of carbon monoxide, which
can result in serious injury or death
